About this Event
This talk will explore the real-world barriers that shape HIV PrEP uptake and adherence among African American men who have sex with men and transgender women. The speaker will examine the psychosocial experiences many African American patients bring into clinical care, including the impact of historical and ongoing medical mistrust. Attendees will be encouraged to reflect on how existing systems and practices within their own organizations may reinforce these challenges, and will leave with practical, evidence-based strategies to strengthen patient engagement and trust in everyday care.
