About this Event
It is estimated about more than 300,000 individuals in the United States are living with Chagas disease, many of whom remain undiagnosed. Chagas disease is a lifelong condition if left untreated and a third of individuals will progress to cardiac involvement. Experts recommend screening individuals who are at risk, especially those who are undergoing immunosuppression. Yet, testing is not straightforward, and providers struggle to interpret the results. During this session, Dr. Susan Montgomery will guide us through the quagmire of Chagas disease testing in the United States in different settings. She will bring her years of experience and expertise to this case-based session. You will not want to miss it!
